Cake Case Flowers

Updated on 16th December 2019 by Kate Williams | 5 Comments

During some midweek baking last week to avoid the rain my son dropped a few of the paper cases on the floor. When I went to pick them I realised how much they look like little flowers and boom! Cake case flowers it was. A nice little kids craft project to do while our cakes were cooking!

Paper cake cases

Crayons, paints etc

Pipe cleaners

Play dough

Instructions:

We cut the pipe cleaners in half as they were huge then my son coloured in the cake cases with crayons. We made a hole in each of them by putting a ball of play dough on the table, then putting the cake case on top of that so we could poke the pipe cleaner through it. We then pushed the pipe cleaner nearly all the way through, just leaving enough so our cake case flowers would stay in place! The stamen is made from another small lump of play dough and serves the duel purpose of looking cute and covering the end of the pipe cleaner which can be a bit pointy!

Pop the bottom end in a nice little hill of play dough so that it stands up and you’re done. Children occupied, and in our case, cakes ready.
